When teens decide that they want to have their very own business there are many things that need to be discussed. Parents or adult guardians need to be fully involved in this entire process from the origin of the idea to the time it is put into action. This is the way to keep things in order and not let them get out of hand in any fashion.

Depending on what sort of business venture that is being entered into, there may be a need for adult permission to even have this business. That is a huge reason to have an adult involved in your business, if you are a teenager. Something that is important to learn for teen entrepreneurs is the way to organize and conduct day to day business tasks. This is a vital skill that needs to be mastered prior to the beginning of a business of any type. The good news is that teens all over the world are finding ways to do just that while also providing needed items to other teens in poverty stricken areas of the world.

There are many ideas for ways to do this. One such idea thought up by teens was to fill backpacks with an assortment of school supplies and send them to teens all over who have no way to afford their own supplies. Everyone has an opinion about most things in life and they usually have no problem expressing this opinion whether others want to hear it or not. It’s perfectly ok to express your opinion about something but make sure that you know how to do that. This is particularly important when running a business.

If your business is one that makes it necessary to deal with many types of people, you can bet that they are going to have opinions on everything from politics to religion and anything else you can think of. Something that many teens who are homeschooled as well as running their own businesses from home tend to forget about is the way they look. This isn’t necessarily in the area of hygiene, although that can certainly be a part of it, but they can also neglect to dress nicely most of the time. Why would they worry about it? No one is actually going to be SEEING them, right?

While this may be true, there is still every reason to learn how to dress for success. This means that you will still shop for really cool clothes, shoes, jackets, and coats. You will dress up in these clothes and go out. These nice clothes are appropriate for places such as a nice restaurant, church, shopping, a movie, and other occasions. One of the things that will take you far in the world of running your own business is being able to effectively communicate with your clients or customers. This is something that is vital to the success of your business, whether you are a teen business entrepreneur or an adult. If you cannot talk with your clients or customers in a way that they can comprehend, you may as well do some sort of desk job that doesn’t require you to have to speak with people.

The best way to start learning to effectively communicate is through people you meet in everyday life. Start a conversation with someone you don’t know very well, or even with a stranger. This helps build your confidence level of talking to all different types of people. You will start to become more comfortable with your speaking and conversational skills. Something that teen entrepreneurs need to think about when starting their own businesses is whether or not they will be ready to be a boss at some point in the future. This could easily happen if you believe in yourself and what you do because you are pumping your business full of positive energy so there is every reason it will succeed. When this happens, it’s quite possible that you will need to hire someone to help you.

Believe it or not, it takes a lot more than just being the business owner to be a boss. There are definite people skills involved in being an effective boss, whether you call it boss, manager, supervisor or any other term used to describe the person in charge. You must know how to relate to people without making them feel as if they are underlings. Being a business owner comes with both privileges and responsibilities, not only to yourself, but to others as well as God.   As a Christian I am sure you realize that it is God who gave you the business and the abilities that you have to run it.  As a result, you will want to do all that you can to make certain that you are running your business as a Christian should.

As Christian business owners we should stand out from the crowd by offering top-notch service, stand firm on our promises, and go the extra mile for our clients.  Doing so will not only make your business successful, but also make it a shining light and a witness in our world.

Too many business owners allow themselves to become involved in schemes or scams in the pursuit of the almighty dollar.  By doing so they are not only giving their business and themselves a bad image and reputation, but they are also not being faithful to God by being dishonest and not honoring the commandments that He gives us all as Christians.
